Author Guidelines

1. General Requirements

Journal of Peace and Gender accepts original manuscripts that have not been published previously and are not under consideration elsewhere. Submissions must align with the journal’s focus on peacebuilding, conflict transformation, and gender. Manuscripts should be written in clear, academic English.

2. Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts the following types of submissions:

  • Research Articles (empirical or theoretical)
  • Review Articles (critical literature review)
  • Conceptual Papers
  • Case Studies
  • Practice-Based or Field Reports

3. Manuscript Preparation

Authors must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Length: 5,000–8,000 words (including references)
  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

4. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized as follows:

  • Title (clear and concise)
  • Abstract (150–250 words)
  • Keywords (3–5 words)
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review (if applicable)
  • Methodology
  • Results and Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • References

5. Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should briefly present the purpose, methods, key findings, and implications. Do not include citations.
Keywords should represent the core topics of the manuscript and support indexing.

6. Citation and Referencing Style

The journal uses APA Style (7th edition).
Authors must ensure all cited works appear in the reference list and that references are relevant and up to date. The use of reference managers such as Mendeley or Zotero is recommended.

7. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively
  • Each must include a clear title
  • Sources must be provided where applicable
  • Images must be high resolution
  • Authors are responsible for permissions if using copyrighted material

8. Ethical Considerations

Authors must comply with the journal’s Publication Ethics.
Research involving human participants must include ethical approval and informed consent where applicable.
Plagiarism, data fabrication, and duplicate submission are strictly prohibited.

9. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system (OJS).
Authors need to register, log in, and follow the submission steps as instructed on the platform.

10. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.
The review process typically takes 4–8 weeks. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer comments.

11. Revision and Acceptance

Authors must revise their manuscripts within the specified timeframe and provide clear responses to reviewer comments.
Final decisions are based on reviewer recommendations and editorial evaluation.

12. Article Processing Charges

The journal does not charge any submission or publication fees. This policy reflects a commitment to equitable access to academic knowledge.

13. Copyright and License

Authors retain copyright of their work. Published articles will be made available under an open-access license (e.g., Creative Commons).

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
