Peer Review Process
Journal of Ecologies: Plural Worlds, Relational Ecologies, Regenerative Futures implements a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and integrity of all published manuscripts.
1. Initial Editorial Screening
All submissions are first reviewed by the editorial team to assess their relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, as well as their compliance with submission and formatting guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external review.
2. Plagiarism Screening
Manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools to ensure originality. Submissions with a high similarity index may be returned for revision or rejected at this stage.
3. Assignment to Reviewers
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. The journal applies a double-blind review system, where the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential.
4. Review Criteria
Reviewers evaluate submissions based on:
- Originality and contribution to knowledge
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
- Conceptual and theoretical engagement
- Methodological rigor and appropriateness
- Clarity, coherence, and quality of writing
- Engagement with relevant literature
5. Review Outcomes
Based on reviewers’ reports, the editor may issue one of the following decisions:

- Accept with minor revisions
- Revise and resubmit (major revisions required)
- Reject
6. Revision Process
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version along with a detailed response explaining how each comment has been addressed. Revised manuscripts may be sent for further review if necessary.
7. Final Decision
The final decision is made by the editor, taking into account the reviewers’ recommendations and the quality of the revised manuscript.
8. Production and Publication
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, layout editing, and proofreading before publication. Authors will be informed once their article is scheduled for publication.
9. Review Timeline
The peer review process typically takes 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required.
