Author Guidelines

Journal of Ecologies: Plural Worlds, Relational Ecologies, Regenerative Futures welcomes original and high-quality manuscripts that contribute to interdisciplinary debates on ecological relations across diverse contexts. The journal encourages critical, empirically grounded, and theoretically engaged scholarship that reflects plural, relational, and regenerative perspectives.

1. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal.
  • Submissions should be written in clear and academic English.
  • The manuscript must align with the journal’s aims and scope.
  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of their work.
  • All submissions must comply with ethical standards in scholarly publishing.

2. Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Conceptual Papers

3. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized as follows:

  • Title: Concise and informative.
  • Author(s) Information: Full names, institutional affiliations, and email addresses.
  • Abstract: 150–250 words summarizing the purpose, approach, and key findings.
  • Keywords: 3–6 keywords.
  • Introduction: Background, research problem, and objectives.
  • Literature Review / Theoretical Framework
  • Methodology: Research design, data sources, and analytical approach.
  • Results and Discussion: Findings and critical interpretation.
  • Conclusion: Summary and implications.
  • References: Complete list of cited works.

4. Formatting Guidelines

  • Manuscripts should be between 6,000–9,000 words (including references).
  • Use A4 paper size with standard margins.
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12; line spacing 1.5.
  • Use a consistent citation style (APA, Chicago, or Harvard, as specified by the journal).
  • All references must be cited in the text and vice versa.

5. Citation and References

  • Authors must ensure accurate and complete referencing of all sources.
  • Recent and relevant scholarly literature is strongly encouraged.
  • The use of reference management tools such as Mendeley reference manager or Zotero reference manager is recommended.

6. Ethical Considerations

  • Authors must adhere to ethical research standards.
  • Research involving communities, particularly Indigenous and local communities, should demonstrate respect, consent, and appropriate acknowledgment.
  • Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

7. Plagiarism Policy

  • All manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software.
  • A similarity index above the journal’s threshold may result in rejection or revision.

8. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system (OJS).
  • Authors must complete all required metadata during submission.
  • The journal does not charge any submission or publication fees (APC free).

9. Peer Review Process

  • All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.
  • Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback.

10. Copyright and Licensing

  • Authors retain copyright of their work.
  • Articles are published under an open-access license (e.g., Creative Commons), allowing broad dissemination with proper attribution.

11. Final Decision

  • The editor makes the final decision based on reviewers’ recommendations and the overall quality and relevance of the manuscript.

  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
